A little about the couple…

Amanda & Daniel are one hip couple. From the beginning, Amanda and Daniel wanted their wedding to be fun, focus on the guest experience, and relaxed. Even though we jazzed up some details and added personal touches, their wedding really captured their initial vision. In the midst of their planning, they handled a move from SF to LA, their first venue burned down in the Woolsey Fire, and we had to start from scratch 5 months out – just as we were about to mail save the dates. Through and through, they wanted to ensure the day was fun, light-hearted, and family-oriented.

They incorporated Daniel’s Jewish culture by having a traditional Jewish ceremony with the Ketubah signing prior to the ceremony with Rabbi Neil, and their wedding party. During the ceremony, Amanda & Daniel had several of their friends share the 7 blessings in Hebrew & English.

Inessa Nichols Design took the design element to create an inviting, natural feel for the ceremony with a birch chuppah, green foliage, foraged wisteria, and blue delphinium. We also had two-floor meadow arrangements that looked as if it was growing naturally from the ground. We utilized La Pinata Party Rentals’ mahogany brown padded folding chair and formed it with the tree being the focal point of the ceremony.

When it came to attire, the couple did not disappoint. From Amanda’s two-piece custom pantsuit and veil from Amanda James Design to Daniel’s cobalt blue suit – their outfits were on point! The detail alone on Amanda’s attire is stunning, and she incorporated her something blue with her shoes & florals. For her bridesmaids, she had each of them wear different colored dresses in the same style. During the reception she even threw on a furry mauve jacket and some tennis shoes to dance the night away.

Since the theme of the day was carefree and guest-oriented – the food experience checked all the boxes. For starters, Tastebuds Catering provided the charcuterie spread and passed hors d’oeuvres meanwhile LA Speakeasy threw down on the cocktail front with craft cocktails for guests to enjoy. For dinner, the couple decided to have THREE food trucks. That’s right – 3! Each guest at their place setting received a ticket for each food truck that they would give when ordering to reflect a night market vibe. The food truck options were: Two Doughs Pizza, Yalla Truck, and The Lime Truck. If you’ve never had Two Doughs Pizza before you need to try it ASAP. It is life-changing (and was personally requested by the groom’s father)!

When it came to the details, Amanda and Daniel wanted to keep it simple but personalized in their own way. Amanda honored her late-aunt at the candy station with naming the candy bar after her and offering her favorite sweet treat. For the seating chart, the names of each table were the streets in which the bride & groom met those specific friends/family members. The menu tickets were a custom design, Amanda wanted to elevate the napkin so she chose a pattern from BBJ Linen, we collaboratively created the seating chart using pottery pieces from Daniel’s mom, placed pictures around the mansion of both sides of the family, and the pantsuit!
